Embryo Donation | Your Guide to Making a Life-Changing Gift
Embryo donation is a compassionate choice that allows you to give unused embryos the opportunity for life and provide an incredible gift to intended parents. Our program is designed to support both donors and recipients throughout this meaningful journey.

The Embryo Donation Process:
1. Eligibility and Initial Steps:
- Understand who can donate embryos and the initial steps to take. Patients who have completed their own families through In Vitro Fertilization and have remaining embryos can consider donation.
- Contact our Embryologists, Lauren (lauren.king@ftcivf.com) or Alyssa (alyssa@ftcivf.com) or our Business Manager Michella (mreynolds@ftcivf.com) or call her at (480) 889-1215 to discuss your eligibility and the details of the donation process.
2. Medical and Legal Aspects:
- Embryos donated through our program undergo thorough screening to ensure they are healthy and viable. This includes testing for hepatitis, HIV, diabetes, and other health parameters.
- Legal agreements are put in place to protect both the donor and the recipient. Once the embryos are donated (known or anonymously), all parental rights are legally transferred, and records are kept confidential and destroyed after seven years in accordance with state law.
3. Donation Procedure:
- The actual donation process involves transferring the embryos to our donor program and we handle the transfer of ownership from the program to the intended recipients. As a donor, you will provide consent for your embryos to be adopted and transferred, giving them a chance at life with another family.
Benefits of Donating Embryos:
1. Emotional Fulfillment:
- Donating your embryos can provide immense emotional satisfaction knowing that you are helping another family achieve their dream of parenthood.
2. Ethical Considerations:
- Many donors find comfort in knowing their unused embryos are given a chance at life rather than being discarded or remaining frozen indefinitely.
3. Clear Legal Boundaries:
- The donation process is structured to ensure clear legal boundaries. Donors relinquish all parental rights, and recipients are assured of their legal parenthood once the embryos are transferred.
